Trusted by DOTs and road authorities worldwide

Because bridges are natural bottlenecks to traffic, repairing them can be a significant disruption. Avoiding repair-related traffic chaos requires a two-fold approach: preventative solutions that keep deterioration in check, and reliable repairs that can be deployed quickly when the need arises.

The Ultraseal Bridge Deck Waterproofing system protects the bridge deck and the underlying structure from moisture, blocking one of the most significant forms of bridge deterioration. The multi-layer Ultraseal system uses a hot-poured membrane for seamless waterproofing, along with an optional reinforcement layer for seams and joints, and a topmost protective layer to block punctures.

The Matrix Bridge Joint system provides smooth transitions while accommodating seasonal movement. This asphaltic plug joint system is simple and quick to install, with minimal maintenance and built-in joint waterproofing.

PoreShield is a revolutionary bio-based concrete protectant that blocks deterioration from inside the pore system for 10+ years. PoreShield is safe to spray over water and requires no PPE, special equipment or special training.

Crafco Mastic One and TechCrete provide fast, durable repairs to asphalt or concrete. Applicable to a wide range of pavement distresses, Mastic One and TechCrete are load-bearing but remain flexible to absorb thermal movement of the surrounding pavement. Best of all, these hot-applied mastic materials are simple to install and ready for traffic as soon as they cool.

Step 1

Preparation

  • Concrete pavements:
    • Ensure concrete is prepared according to ASBA guidelines, including a vapor barrier below the slab.
    • Ensure new concrete pavement has cured at least 28 days and is uniformly textured for proper adhesion.
    • Etch new and old concrete with muriatic acid and flush with clean water.
    • Apply two-part acrylic epoxy primer to ensure proper bond.
  • Asphalt pavements:
    • Ensure asphalt pavement complies with ASBA asphalt guidelines, including mix design and compaction.
    • New asphalt pavement must be aged at least 14 days before application.
  • All pavements must be clean, dry and free of grease, oil or debris before application.

Step 2

Installation

  • Action Pave is a multi-part system consisting of resurfacer, filler, cushion, color and finisher. Apply each layer in the following manner:
    • Pour a ribbon of material along one end of the area to be surfaced. Spread evenly with a squeegee by walking in one direction and then reversing direction.
    • Before applying the next coat of material, inspect coating and scrape off any ridges, lumps or other imperfections.
    • Apply the next coat 90 degrees to the previous coat.
