The longitudinal joint between asphalt courses is the weakest part of the pavement. Crafco VRAM (Void Reducing Asphalt Membrane) makes it stronger. VRAM is applied before paving, then migrates upward into the overlaying asphalt to fill uncompacted air voids in the mix during paving. VRAM effectively creates an impermeable pavement area to block water damage, preventing premature raveling and other deterioration.
