UDOT and local agencies have been successfully placing Mastic One over pavement scoring (rumble strips) used to alert drivers of lane change.
The pavement scoring along these segments had become striped and eroded with potholes.
The desire was to not eliminate the effect of the safety scoring, while preserving and extending the pavement life.
UDOT has also been placing Mastic One in and over cracks wider than 2” where the pavements have become depressed and rough. Over the past four years UDOT has placed over 180,000 lbs. of Mastic One on these types of pavement surface breakup.
